MUN Weekend

Westwood Boarders have been helping this weekend as secretaries at the Bath International Schools' Model United Nations with about 400 pupils participating from schools across the UK and some from Germany. The boarders have been helping tirelessly to get messages passed from one committee to another. Their reward for these endeavours - sweets galore! Sadly the House iPhone has had a malfunction so please check out @KWS_Westwood for evidence of the entire weekend - profuse apologies!

Saturday saw the Year 7 boys play hockey against Dauntsey's and credit to Unnav for stepping at the last minute to play goalie for the U12 B team which drew. An excellent number of girls had matches away at Dean Close with mixed results, but many smiles on their return to Westwood.

The film last night chosen by Lala and Monica the Hate U Give was a thought provoking film about racial divisions in the US. It was enjoyed by all and led to some intriguing debates...maybe the effect of MUN!

This afternoon some of the Year 7 boys played 5-aside-football with boys from Hall and Middle. Rajul and Ivan caught the eye and Unnav showed no mercy with his tackling of older boys! Ryan and James missed with their penalties in the shoot-out, but football and cameraderie were the winners.  Given the excellent participation of the boarders at MUN, the Year 8 boarders who had either had sport and or been involved in MUN were allowed to town this afternoon; this decision was well-received by them.

The weekend was capped off by Callum's fine second place in his latest Karting event in Newark. We need to make more space for his trophies! Sadly, the only photo to survive the 'castrophic failure' message

We promise to have more photographic evidence next week. Your children are alive and well in Westwood and are now asleep!
