Trip to Bristol Zoo

Another dry weekend in Bath ensured a smooth Open Morning, followed by boys involved in various rugby matches and a big posse of Westwood boarders heading into town for some retail therapy with Kate, the prefect, and Miss Brandstätter.  The purchase of some 'crazy soap' by Oscar led to the following pictures on the terrace. The canister is now empty and we do not need to see this product again!

Mr Edgell kindly accompanied our trip to Bristol Zoo and the pupils caught up with reptiles, amphibians, lions, apes and various birds who live in  tropical forests. Some of the girls with heads for heights took on the high ropes -having been securely harnessed and well-briefed.There was also a chance to see a Kookaburra up close; he proved to be very feisty and would not give the dummy snake back to the demonstrator! A very good trip out! A good number of the Year 8 boarders were out on a splendid hike on the Mendips -  more information on this hike will appear soon http://kingswoodoutdoorpursuits.blogspot.co.uk/ Most of the pupils are now swimming before bedtime! Hope this finds you well, wherever you are reading it!
Why can't they all look at the camera at the same time?

Give the snake back!

Ella sensibly sat this one out, like the staff!
Poppy summoning up the courage

Polina takes it all in her stride!
Poppy takes the plunge with Ayaloowa just behind.

Glorious sunshine at Bowood House

It may have rained in the UK over the summer, but it was warm enough today for sunscreen, T-Shirts and ice creams at Bowood House; a stately home about 45 minutes from Bath. The pupils enjoyed a brisk stroll around the grounds and the imposing home of the Marquis and Marchioness of Lansdowne (http://www.bowood.org/bowood-house). During the walk many shrieks were emitted in a pitch black grotto - we all got out safely! The photos below also show Westwood boarders enjoying the play area at Bowood and the odd dairy product! The pupils were a pleasure to take out.  Mr Davies and Baci also enjoyed taking part and helping! My thanks to Mr Davies.
