Westwood boarders were able to enjoy some reprieve from the week's academic and sporting challenges by focussing minds and hearts on the forthcoming feast of St. Valentine. Though shrouded in myth and legend, at the heart of the celebration on 14th February is love, togetherness and a sense of celebration. As a prelude to the 14th, Saturday evening began with boarders enjoying the romantic comedy The Proposal.
Sunday continued the theme of love, togetherness and celebration by the coming together of all Westwood boarders to home-make their own Italian meal for lunch. With a willing team, spanning responsibilities from Head Chefs to Kitchen Hands, everybody played their part in an exciting and rewarding initiative to cook for each other and enjoy each other's company. The photos below provide you with an overview of all that this entailed:

This evening our boarders attended a scheduled meeting in Kingswood's Theatre for the whole boarding community. Herein, we celebrated the giving of the Wyvern awards; an accolade bestowed upon those who have given themselves selflessly to the boarding community and set an example for others to follow. Monica and Freddie were worthy recipients on this occasion. Lala, Angel and Ryan were also worthy winners of Westwood's entries for the whole school's Bake-off competition last week. Naturally, we extend our congratulations to all winners from the Junior and Senior Houses who produced a wonderful array of cakes! So, as we enter our final week prior to half-term, we are grateful for the opportunity to have come together in that spirit of love, togetherness and celebration this weekend. We hope you enjoyed this week's offering and look forward to updating you again soon.
