Snow Day Final Post

The kitchen is currently a hive of activity with Vladislav and Marco making 40 toasted cheese sandwiches and many enjoying Friday Noodles; the epic Monopoly game is still continuing! Nearly time for bed - highly rewarding day!

A walk in snowy woods!

 We are going on yomp!
Wrapped and ready for the elements.

 Marcus never without his umbrella!

 Lovely snow angel!

How civilised, Dasha and Sasha! Bath Ladies who do 'Tea'.
 Behave, Mrs Curtis!

 Great shot, Rachel!

Is this allowed?
 Makeshift slide!

 Very elegant, Ayomikun!

 Looking towards Beckford's Tower
 Looking South-West!

Back in time for hot chocolate and marshmallows!
 General happiness and warmth!

We may not have been in lessons today, but we have learnt about extreme weather and enjoyed lots of camaraderie. Congratulations to the Triathletes who have swam, walked and played in the sports hall. Good night from Westwood.

A third of the way through Snow Day

We navigated our way to the pool thanks to the teams of pupils and staff who have ensured there are good pathways around the campus. Some of the non-teaching staff have walked in miles to ensure the School can operate - real team spirit! Eleven Westwood boarders enjoyed their swim. There were very lively games of 'Piggy in the Middle', whilst the more commercially-minded have been demonstrating their financial savoir-faire over Monopoly (Bath Edition). We are about to head out for some snow fun and hot chocolate on our return. The roads around the school are treacherous, but we are safe, warm and well!

A full snow day begins

We salute the Pappa Johns pizza delivery man who was able to bring joy up Lansdown using a 4x4 vehicle; his efforts were not in vain and the film Thor: Ragnarok was well received. The white scene this morning outside prior to a little clearing. We will enjoy some 'snow play' after lunch. I am sure more pictures will follow.

Westwood Snowed in

We are all well and warm in Westwood. Today is supposed to the first day of Meteorological Spring - hard to believe!. There have been epic games of netball (in the sports hall), Monopoly and Twister this afternoon. Miss Rolfe even put on a Dance Workshop. The pictures below show the white out on Fonthill Road. Unfortunately the Bath Netball match tomorrow against the Sirens from Glasgow has been postponed due to the adverse weather. We will settle down to enjoy a film and some pizza, if the delivery man makes it up Lansdown.

Sunny, but cold!

It has been a relatively quiet weekend. A good number of girls, Sasha, Rachel, Katya, Monica, Sudipti, Nina, Praeasha, Dawn and Noelina embraced the cold conditions in matches against BGS - some teams were successful. Vladislav, Robert and Vic played hockey for the victorious U13B team.  All those who wanted to shop in town got to town and Mr Duke settled back in the boarders' lounge enjoying Scotland beating England at rugby, which happens about once a decade! Saturday evening's film divided opinion, but Geostorm was the title.

After a gentle Sunday morning which included breakfast, some sport and brunch we braced ourselves for the walk to the cinema to see Black Panther or Greatest Showman. The group enjoyed beautiful skies despite the coldness. The walk down is not their favourite activity, but many ate a good amount of popcorn having taken some exercise! The majority watched the new Marvel film. The chat on the bus back to Westwood suggested both had been well received.

Mrs Duke has been baking for tomorrow morning's weekly sale of cakes and we celebrate Connie's and Perry's birthdays over the next two days! We are off to the Netball at Bath University on Friday evening and many Year 7 and Year 8 pupils will be involved in the annual Model United Nations as secretaries. Update to come from Mr Thatcher next week.
