Games on the Middle and an Indian Summer in Bath

Yesterday was the School's Open Day and we welcomed record numbers of families interested in the school. Westwood day and boarders were involved in a host of activities including lessons in the Geography, History, Maths and RS departments. Other pupils were playing in the Westwood Orchestra and the Year 8 girls' House hockey matches also took place. There were many positive comments at the boarders giving tours to visitors in Westwood. Our prefects yesterday were Yemi, Misha and Sarah; the latter were both boarders themselves in Westwood so it was good to have their expertise. Many of the boys and girls were involved in tough rugby and hockey matches respectively against KPS and Bishop's Wordsworth School and Dauntsey's School.

After brunch today and under sunny skies we headed to the Middle with Nina, Ryan, Bill, Mr and Mrs Hull and their son, Joshua from High Vinnalls (the KPS Boarding House) for various outdoor games. Prior to these crazy games Bill and Ryan showed off their table tennis credentials. The pupils learnt the art of 'Westwood Long Ball', ultimate Frisbee and a crazy relay race involving various challenges and obstacles. This was followed by delicious hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows orchestrated by Mrs Mainwaring. It was great to get two hours of fresh air on such a mild October day.
