Nearly finished, Mr Duke!
How much more do I need to do?
I am ready for the challenge!
The highlight of the weekend, apart from last night's film Fast and Furious 7 which left a good number of the enthralled audience not dry-eyed, has been our trip today who the traditional Panto at the Theatre Royal in Bath for the matinée performance of Jack and the Beanstalk featuring the well-known actor Nigel Havers playing the villain. (http://www.theatreroyal.org.uk/page/3028/Jack-and-the-Beanstalk/1065). We were treated to plenty of slapstick humour and all enjoyed ice cream from a well known local provider in Marshfield (other products are available!)! The Year 7 boys, Oscar, Sunichi, Johnny and Karan with whom I sat, were laughing very loudly and joined in some of the songs they recognised. The pupils got into the whole "he's behind you...oh no he is not!" routine which is part and parcel of Christmas Panto. The booing and cheering was very enthusiastic as was the pupils response to the 'shout out' to Kingswood School in the 'Village News' on stage. The quick walk back up the hill was certainly required after all the sweets and popcorn which were also consumed! The atmosphere in the House is excellent and this is typified by Harry and Tomiwo offering to tidy up this morning with mop and towels: good effort, boys!
Hope 2016 has started well wherever you are reading this blog!
