The Westwood boarders have enjoyed working in all kinds of 'teams' this weekend. We've had bakers of cookies, shoppers, cooks, table-layers, tidy-upers, put-awayers, sports teams and dancing pairs, sixes and eights! Yesterday some pupils were involved in successful hockey and netball matches, while others relaxed or played. The film, San Andreas, went down well. Today's lunch, brilliantly orchestrated by Mrs Mainwaring, was Chilli with tacos, rice, guacamole, sour cream, grated cheese, fruit drinks and cheesecake. The onions proved a challenge for Karan! A number of pupils even managed thirds! There were not many dirty plates at the end of it all. The pupils have learnt a lot about recycling this weekend and we hope they will use the colour coordinated bins more carefully. The kitchen is now very tidy. Having eaten well, we then played a mixture of different sports and competed in teams in an It's-A-Knockout style relay.

This is yummy!
Time for dessert!
Tonight's Burns' Supper was a chance for the whole boarding community to
come together to celebrate the life of the Scottish Bard (poet), Robert
Burns. The meal includes an address to a Haggis, a special Selkirk
Grace and Toast to the Lassies and Laddies. Our delicious and traditional meal included Haggis,
(tur)Nips and Tatties (potatoes) accompanied by a scrummy dessert. We moved to the Sports Hall for a Ceilidh - Scottish Country Dancing, which was a great way to finish off a top day.
The pupils had the chance to play the bagpipes!
