Winter is here in Bath

The Art of Ligretto
A game requiring quick hands!
Jungle Speed
Ritika shows good reactions to snatch the Totem
All the girls braved Siberian wind chill factor in their House hockey matches playing in either the A or B teams. In Year 7 Beckford came out on top, but in Year 8 Hamilton was the victor. The bacon butties which followed warmed everyone up. Most of the house descended into town in the company of prefects, Dexter and Thea this afternoon. Sarah Brandstätter introduced Westwood this evening to the fun of the card games Jungle Speed https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jungle_Speed and Ligretto; the latter is a frenzy of card turning and pile building; Dexter and Tomiwo formed a winning partnership with Ong and Dima in hot pursuit. The film tonight is Jupiter Ascending.

Thanksgiving/Halloween Mash-Up.

Tuesday 18th November

Termly Party in Westwood.

Once a term we have a special meal in the house after prep.  The food is cooked by the brilliant catering department and brought over to Westwood.

This week we had a build - a - burger evening with a special Halloween theme - I know it's a little late.

The prefects Rory and Olivia join in the fun.  A double burger for a 1st XV forward -  - obviously.

Cartoon seems to be having a great time - as usual.

decisions, decisions.  Some great cakes made in-house by Daisy.

Abi seems somewhat bemused by the selection of scary cakes.

Fireworks and Film

All the Westwood boarders headed to the Rec on Saturday night for the annual fireworks. Fortunately the wind had dropped and it was dry. The short show was spectacular and very loud! If you use the following link you can see some pictures. http://visitbath.co.uk/whats-on/bath-rotary-club-fireworks-display-p77081

After some highly competitive benchball, indoor football and table tennis (Johnny took on Mr Duke in an ongoing challenge!) and with a hearty brunch inside us, we walked into town to see the film Pan in the company of Mrs Fountain. Some screamed louder than others...Ritika! The film was greatly enjoyed by all, as was the popcorn. other treats and drinks. However, the weather was less lovely! Indian Summer in Bath - crêpes and crazy games on the Middle

We have enjoyed another weekend of glorious sunshine in Bath as the photos below prove. Many of the boys have been involved in rugby matches; Dima and Karan made their debuts in matches and came back smiling. On Saturday evening Sarah Brandstätter, the German Assistant, made pancakes with Polina, Keira and Ayooluwa for the rest of the team who were either watching Cinderella or the match between Australia and England; both sides were well supported by Westwood boarders.

We have been on a health purge today with a morning of badminton and table tennis. This afternoon in the company of Mrs Solomon-Gardner, we all involved ultimate Frisbee, Danish Long Ball, a mad relay race, rounders and touch rugby.  Those involved all enjoyed a well-earned Marshfield ice cream. They should sleep well tonight after 3 hours in the sunshine and fresh air. Tonight we've also celebrated Eloise's birthday with Mrs Hollywell's famed cup cakes.
