Mrs Curtis organised two engaging, informative and practical workshop with professional nutritionist, Coriander Stone, for Year 8 and Year 7 boarders on Monday and Tuesday this week. The emphasis was on stable blood sugar levels and quality snacks which could provide this without having to rely on sugary snacks in tuck boxes. The boarders were surprised to learn about the concept of good fats whihc can be combined with carbohydrates to produce good blood sugar levels to enable them to be active and creative! The boarders asked good questions throughout the presentations and then got hands on making guacomole and hummus from scratch. They now have the recipes for these dishes and for the toasted seeds in soy sauce and a healthy smoothie which also included whey. They enjoyed the event and hopefully can move these ideas forward more.
