Festive Greetings from Westwood
Westwood boarders headed to the Prep School Christmas Fayre yesterday afternoon which was enjoyed by all and meant pupils did not get too wet, given the weather was foul! The morning saw the Year 7 boys enjoy the mud and the mist of the Upper in the A Team Rugby House Match. The game was very tight and according to Mr Webb, who refereed it, it was exciting and enormously physical. Posnett came out on top by one try to nil!
This afternoon we headed into town to catch the final day of the Christmas Market, which is located around the Abbey. It is unseasonably warm today. The pupils bought gifts (hopefully for you, the readers!) and for teachers and friends.
We also enjoyed some delicious Fudge and Hot Chocolate from a shop owned by the parents of Olly in Year 8.

We also came across Westwood Prefect, Max, hard at work!

Fudge going down a storm!
Great hot chocolate!
Pupils also bought items to wear for the much anticipated Christmas Disco, run by the Prefects, tomorrow and the theme is space. Numerous Westwood pupils are involved in the Christmas Concert on Tuesday. Many of the boarders will also be sporting Christmas jumpers on Wednesday around school whilst also enjoying a delicious Christmas Lunch. We head to the Abbey on Thursday afternoon for the end of term Finale, the Carol Service. A very busy final week, I am sure you will agree.
This is the view looking East and South West tonight from Westwood. Not bad views!

Westwood Advent Celebrations
A lovely festive weekend in Westwood. All the children helped to put up the Christmas trees and lights in the house. On Sunday we had a really nice trip to Whitehall Garden Centre along with the rest of the South-West!!
Along with a myriad of festive gifts and displays there are a number of tableaux which reflect Christmas images across the ages.
One of the very best features of the garden centre - along with its impressive collection of chain saws and garden machinery - is the excellent ice rink which was really well used by some brilliant Westwood skaters.
Note the fine style of Vic as he attempts to land his double toe loop.
Oscar makes full use of all the facilities and ensures that the equipent is safe for the younger children to use.
Henri is a little more vigorous.
Dario uses his native Mexican skills on the ice - clearly a natural.
