Westwood Camping

The weather was kind and Westwood boarders have consequently enjoyed a great weekend involving a camp on the Upper and a trip to Weston-Super-Mare. Thanks to an army of tent builders, Mr Davies and Agnès the tents were finally sorted despite the windy conditions.
After some competitive boys versus girls rounders, Mr Hollywell produced another award-winning BBQ. It was lovely to have the High Vinnalls pupils and staff join the merriment!

The Upper ground staff had kindly built a substantial bonfire and under the watchful eye of staff marshmallows were toasted and devoured!

After a reasonable night's sleep Mr Edgell and Agnès produced magnificent bacon butties and hot chocolate before the camp was dissembled. The next stop was Weston-Super-Mare where the pupils roamed the Grand Pier and enjoyed spending their dinner money on Fish and Chips.Top weekend had by all. Now time for some sleep!

Thanks to all involved for making it such a great weekend!

Longleat Sunday 10th May

The girls check out the East African Savannah just outside Frome.  Lots of Giraffe and Zebra.  Some black with white stripes and the less common white with black stripes.

A little cold!!

The monkeys surf on top of the KS bus.  Expertly driven by Mrs H.

Up close and personal with an impressive beast !

Most of the Dinosaurs were harmless and fairly static.

Not sure I can say the same about the Yr 8 boys.

Rohan makes the most of all the facilities.  Below, the girls try to escape from Tomiwo.

Antonio, Dmytro and Ed standing by the maze.  Sadly, closed today.

Marble cake and the cinema

Another hectic weekend draws to a close in Westwood. Some pupils have just headed off for a swim. others to the tennis courts -  Sunday evening rituals in the Summer Term. The weekend saw girls playing tennis against Dauntsey's and the boys playing cricket at Clifton College. During Saturday evening, Agnès baked with some of the girls; her delicious Marble Cake which went down a treat.

After a hearty breakfast, all the boarders played bench ball and our guests from South Africa showed silky skills. Here is a photo of the winning team in the boarders' lounge reflecting on their victories.
We dodged the showers this afternoon on our way to and from town to see the blockbuster, Avengers: Age of Ultron in the company of Mrs Cook. Serious quantities of popcorn were consumed by many. No need for Tuck tonight! If you want to see a trailer for the film use the following hyperlink. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmeOjFno6Do
