Westwood House Music Competition

Monday 10th February in Kingswood Theatre.

The teams gather in the Theatre for the annual competition.  Songs have been selected by the prefects and the dance routines have been practised.

Niamh entertains the house with her skills on the violin.

 Louise and Lottie on flute.

The Beckford girls perform to the crowd.

Hamilton work together on their performance.

This years winners were Hamilton with their rendition of "friends"  The 90s classic.

Many thanks to all the prefects for their hard work in organising the event.  A lot of energy goes into selecting the songs and getting the children up to speed with their choreography.  Made harder this year with all the illness.  Well done to all for a great evening.

Gearing Up for House Music!

Tomorrow night sees the culmination of many hours practising the Four House Songs chosen by our singing coaches and choreographing Westwood Prefects. Beckford, Hamilton, Cusworth and Posnett used various venues in Westwood, the Theatre Foyer and the main stage itself in the School Theatre to enhance their performances in readiness for tomorrow night's showdown; pupils even managed to practise in glorious sunshine outside!
All the Year 7 and Year 8 pupils worked hard during the four thirty minute sessions to polish their dance routines and tune up their singing of songs including the theme tune from the cult  TV Series Friends, Michael Jackson's Beat It, One Direction's One Way and the title song from the hit 1984 musical film Footloose. There will as ever be an international flavour to our judging panel. One can certainly say that the pupils had fun this afternoon as the photos testify!

Which team will come out on top tomorrow night?
