Westwood News
Westwood News - Jan 30th
The
children are all currently trying to raise money for the Lepra-Health in Action
charity. This is a charity that we
support in Westwood every two years. We
have been doing so for about twenty years now.
There is a sponsored workout in Westwood next Wednesday at 1.30pm. We are trying to beat the amount raised last
time which was an incredible £1780. £25
is enough to totally cure someone of this terrible disease.
The
prefects have already galvanised the four houses within Westwood ready for the annual
House Song Competition on Thurs Feb 13th
at 6.45pm in the school theatre.
The prefects have chosen a song for each of the four houses and the
children should have memorised all the words.
The final practice for this event will be on Sunday 9th
February from 2pm to 4.30pm. I will send
out a letter to this effect very soon.

... some as performers.
Here 'KFC' (Kingswood Flying Circus) in action with the theme from Bottom. (on stage: Rory Padkin - sax, Will Haysom - trombone, Lily Palmer - cornet, Jamie McCleave - drums, Max Lister - guitar, Noah Small - guitar). Mr Mainwaring conducting.
BOARDERS' SUNDAY LUNCH 26th Jan 2014
Westwoood boarders enjoy a Sunday 'family' lunch - this time a delicious Japanese curry recipe courtesy of Mrs Suzui (wife of Mr Duke, resident assistant housemaster).
... some as part of Mr Duke's kitchen team (including cooking 3 kg of rice and 25 chicken breasts!)
... all enjoying the delicious two-course meal (ice cream and baked fruit as pudding) and excellent company.
... some shopping (with Rose - at 2 1/2 the youngest member of the house but definitely in charge!).
No photos of the mountains of washing up however, but already looking forward to next time!
