Beach Clean at Porthcawl

Life in Westwood is cool!

Captain of Boarding, Ryan, writes:
Saturday meant revision for Year 7 before going to town. Some of the boys were in cricket teams. The film, Aquaman, was really enjoyable. We headed on Sunday to Porthcawl in Wales to help clean up the beach with Mr Musgrove, Mr Brown (Art), his son, Mrs Patterson and Mr Amner. We are so delighted we can help save the planet as we know how much rubbish humans create each day.

The trip is linked to sustainable development and Eco-school campaigns to support environmental protection. We know sbout the importance of being active and we all used a lot of energy today in our efforts to make the beach safer and cleaner!

Ryan continues his report: We had delicious fish and chips for lunch before playing some rounders, football and touch rugby.

Week 11: Shopping and Tubing heaven

It has been a busy week for our boarders! Our South African exchange students have settled into house life well and embraced the rigour of the day to day routines. Once the hard work from the school week had finished, the weekend brought exciting opportunities for the whole house to relax; they did so with enthusiasm, beginning with the invariable trip to town and Saturday night movie and pizza!

Sunday was an especially busy day for the boarders, who travelled to Gloucester for a morning of shopping at the Gloucester Quays outlet centre and an afternoon of tubing on the dry ski slopes. Their return to school was followed up with a hearty BBQ supper and a boarding community meeting where house reviews were shared by Westwood's Captains of Boarding, amongst others.
